About the Artist
A Voice Rooted in Tradition, Created for Every Celebration
Dr. Kinjal Bhonsle comes from a traditional family of classical musicians. Her musical journey began at the age of seven under the guidance of her father, Professor Pt. Dwarkanath Bhonsle of the Bhendi Bazaar Gharana.
She completed her Master of Performing Arts from the Faculty of Performing Arts with honours and later earned a doctorate in music. Gifted with a majestic, expressive and wide-ranging voice, she has dedicated approximately two decades to classical vocal performance.
Alongside classical music, Dr. Kinjal has developed extensive experience in Gujarati Lagna Geet. Her repertoire includes more than 300 songs associated with different wedding ceremonies and family traditions. Her performances bring together musical discipline, cultural authenticity and a warm connection with the audience.
She has also contributed to musical dance dramas and large percussion-orchestra productions, and has performed during the Manjalpur Navratri Mahotsav at Sita Baugh from 2011 through 2025.
